The ARITILE brand pursues the possibilities and refinement of procelain. It makes full use of the decorative techniques of Arita ware, which boasts traditions dating over 400 years. Notable features of this line include its high waterproofness, fire resistance and durability. Moreover, the colors and motifs reminiscent of abstract paintings that are applied to each tile give you infinite possibilites when it comes to coordinating them with your interior decor. ARITILE appeals to the luxury market as a set of art tiles that pair ceramics technology drawn from the traditions of Arita ware with modern sensibilities.

STORY
The evolution of Lin began with a spark of serendipity.
In 2016, we created “Lin” in honor of Arita Porcelain’s 400th anniversary. This new product quickly gained popularity and is now one of Kinshodo’s main brands.
As we sought to develop a new type of world-class porcelain, our president gleaned inspiration from the popularity of colorful Nambu Tekki cast irons in Paris. If that traditional Japanese craft was loved abroad– why not Arita Porcelain? Following his inspiration, he created color variations of the traditional Arita Porcelain, the beginnings of Lin.
He wasn’t satisfied with this single-color porcelain, though. Expert craftsmen suggested adding a unique overglaze to create an iridescent effect and bring out a multitude of colors. After much trial and error, we found the perfect recipe for Lin– one that captures light and creates enchanting colors.
The name “Lin” is inspired by the metallic sound of the word and a Kanji character from Linzo Kaneko. The Arita Porcelain painter from the Meiji and Showa periods built a foundation of Kinshodo with his outstanding techniques and visionary designs.
Lin remains true to the 400-year tradition of Arita Porcelain while creating something new and cutting-edge for modern tastemakers.
